Over seven months have passed since I left. Seven months of departure, traveling, arrival, reunions, encounters, discoveries, living the life I’d mapped out for myself and being surprised by the unforeseen along the way.
Now I’ve got approximately seven months left of my South America adventure. Barely two months of volunteering in Cusco and then it’ll already be time for me to say goodbye and go explore more parts of this fascinating continent.
Right now, my estimated route is the following: mountains, rainforest and desert in Peru – Lago Titicaca – Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia – ? – ferry through the Patagonian fjords – working at an organic garden in Torres del Paine – visiting friends and family in Santiago de Chile – rediscovery of Valparaíso – Argentina – train ride through Spain and France – return to Switzerland…
It will surely be subject to changes, because that’s what happens when you travel. A year turns into a bit more, plans to be at home at Christmas give way to wanderlust and new dreams, December turns into February and then March… For those of you slowly wondering if I’ll ever come home again: don’t worry, I will. At some point :).
Until then, my journey will lead me to new places and back to well-known favourite spots. I’ll be meeting up with friends and hopefully making new ones on the road. I will be traveling solo, spending time on my own, getting to know myself. A new kind of challenge. I’m nervous. I’m excited. I don’t want to leave my life here in Cusco behind, but at the same time, I can’t wait to get on the road and discover what other wonders it has in store for me!
Half-time. Time out. Time zone. Sometime. Time lapse. Timeless. Once upon a time.
P. S. I was planning on posting this a while ago, so the numbers aren’t quite correct anymore. Just in case, to spare you the calculations ;).
Hi Amy, just enjoy anywhere you (especially Argentina ofcourse, that’s obvious :-))
Take care. Ingrid and Ton
Thanks a lot! Of course, I’ll see if I can learn some tango ;). Hope you’re doing well and wish you all the best.
